Achievement
Predicted a new magnet material (LaCo2Fe3N2) with hardness, magnetic anisotropy, and potential energy products close to CMI “gap magnet” material CeCo5.

Significance and Impact
Identified crystallographic and interstitial site substitutions to reduce the content of Co by as much as 60% while maintaining permanent magnetic performance.
