Hongyue Jin is an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona, in the department of Systems and Industrial Engineering. She earned her doctorate degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in 2018. Hongyue has been working on CMI projects since 2013 under the supervision of John Sutherland, Fu Zhao and Carol Handwerker at Purdue. Her research focuses on techno-economic analysis (TEA), life cycle assessment (LCA), and supply chain optimization for improving the commercialization opportunities of early-stage research and development (R&D). Currently, Hongyue works under the project led by John Sutherland at Purdue, "Optimizing the Economic Performance of CMI Technologies," for TEA, LCA, and design of experiments for sustainable value recovery from used electronics and spent lithium ion batteries (LIB). This work is in collaboration with Idaho National Laboratory, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Ames Laboratory. Hongyue grew up in the Korean Autonomous Prefecture of China, where she learned to appreciate different cultures.
