Achievement
Dr. Keller began his research career with CMI as a summer intern at INL under Dr. Tedd Lister on recovery of precious metals from shredded electronic waste. A patent was awarded for the developed process.

Significance and impact
Received his PhD in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines on a CMI funded project under Dr. Corby Anderson. Thesis Title: “Surface Interactions and Locked Cycle Flotation of Novel Collectors on Bastnäsite Ore”.

Details and next steps
Has joined Energy Fuels Resources Inc. as a Process Engineer focused on the cracking and leaching of monazite and solvent extraction separation of rare earths.

Energy Fuels has entered the rare earth industry through agreements with The Chemours Company and Neo Performance Materials.
