Innovation
Emily Moore, a CMI project co-lead is a new deputy group leader (DGL) within the Actinide and Lanthanide Science Group at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). 

Achievement
Since joining LLNL and CMI in 2018 she has led focused research within CMI on    Al-Ce-X alloys and design of new permanent magnets.  Her work with CMI has resulted in 2 patents, 7+ papers, and membership in the 4th Cohort of the CMI Leadership Academy. In CMI Phase III, she became co-PI of project 4.1.1. 

Significance and Impact
CMI workforce development and mentorship delivers leadership skills and opportunity for advancement of next generation leaders. Now, Moore is responsible for the mentoring and career growth including line management of a team of eight staff members who conduct research on advanced materials for key LLNL missions.
