Innovation 
Ether-based Aqueous Separations and Extractions (EASE) applies dimethyl ether-driven fractional crystallization (DME-FC) and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) technology to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste and reagent use.

Achievement
CMI Technology developed at Idaho National Laboratory in collaboration with Ames National Laboratory was selected for R&D 100 Award.

Significance and Impact 
Technology is being developed under several projects with multiple active licenses to industrial partners.
