CMI researcher Rebecca Smaha, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, selected as Fellow for Scialog: Sustainable Minerals, Metals, and Materials conference, held September 4-7, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona.

Achievement 
Selection represents substantial progress towards CMI’s goal of training U.S. critical materials workforce.

Significance and Impact

  • Scialogs are series of conferences for early-career researchers focused on a specific theme, co-sponsored by the Research Corporation for Science Advancement and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, with additional support from The Kavli Foundation.
  • As part of this Scialog conference, Smaha proposed two collaborative, cross-disciplinary projects.
