Innovation
Survey of residents near a new cobalt project in Missouri measured local perceptions and support.

Achievement
High levels of self-reported awareness about the project correlated with more positive opinions of it, while those with little awareness tended to be neutral. Across all awareness levels, respondents most frequently obtained information about the project from social media or word of mouth.

Significance and Impact
The results underscore the importance of communication and outreach to inform the community about projects in their area. Most participants felt information about the project was absent or limited (52%), while only 13% felt it was readily accessible.
