Achievement
First successful high-temperature solution growth of single crystalline 1:7-type Zr-doped Ce/Co/Fe/Cu material with Co < 48 wt.% showing high intrinsic magnetic characteristics
Significance and impact
First Ce-based magnet material which incorporates the best magnetic properties from the limiting 2:17 and 1:5 Ce-based materials, combining high magnetizations (Ms = 9.2 – 9.6 kG) with high magneto-crystalline anisotropy (Ha = 48 – 60 kOe).
Details and next steps
Future steps will include characterization of bulk magnets with detailed evaluation of its magnetic, structural and thermal characteristics.
