CMI researchers from Ames National Laboratory conducted the activity for this highlight

Professional Development and Growth 

  • Participated in SULI programs (2018, 2019) at Ames National Laboratory prior to pursuing a PhD at Iowa State University (graduated in 2022).
  • Continued working at Ames National Laboratory as a CMI postdoc examining Li extraction from domestic hard-rock sources.
  • Recognized with several ISU awards, best poster award (CMI Winter Meeting 2023), and inventor incentive award (2024).

Achievement
Physical Scientist within the Circular Economy group at AMMTO, DOE (2024).

Significance and Impact
Contributed to optimized Li extraction technology to meet the set project targets, leading to several publications and a patent application.
