CMI researchers at Colorado School of Mines presented their research to government officials from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan on November 21, 2024.

Achievement
Knowledge transfer of the global supply chain of rare earth elements, value added across the sectors, legislation related to production of critical minerals, and attracting investment to the critical minerals in Central Asian countries.

Significance and Impact

  • Under the auspices of the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, the CMI team contributed to international cooperation.
  • Increased mutual understanding of how critical minerals impact economies in different regions.
  • Examined specific investment opportunities in REE across Central Asia.
