Achievement
Ames National Laboratory and ISU volunteers return annually to support the Iowa Regional Science Bowl. 

Significance and Impact
The Iowa Regional High School Science Bowl challenges students in STEM and builds community among STEM‑focused peers. Ames National Laboratory and Iowa State University host the event, with the winning team advancing to the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., April 24–28, 2026.
