Achievement
Dr. Lana Alagha was appointed Robert H. Quenon Associate Professor of Mining Engineering at Missouri S&T. 

Significance and Impact 
Dr. Lana Alagha was the first full-time female mining engineering faculty member at Missouri S&T. This appointment recognizes her excellent performance as a professor. 

She presently serves as Project Lead for: 

  • Recovery and separation of gallium and germanium from zinc wastes
  • Selective separation of platinum group metals, precious metals, and critical elements from selenium crude residue at Kennecott Utah Copperton Concentrator
