CMI researchers from Colorado School of Mines conducted the research for this highlight.
Achievement
CMI at Colorado School of Mines and partners planned and delivered the Rocky Mountain MESA Jamboree, a STEM-focused engineering event, April 29, 2023. This second annual event attracted more participants, with more diverse and underserved students.
Significance and Impact
- The Jamboree included a competition for RM MESA teams, a poster showcase of work by non-competing RM MESA teams, and an engineering expo with resources, simulations and experiences. A CMI project lead and CMI alums served as judges for the competition part of the event. The winning team advances to national competition, where CMI will provide support and participate in curriculum and program development work.
- CMI offered tours of research and the critical materials exhibit that CMI created and curates at the Mines Museum of Earth Science.
- CMI education and workforce development planned and delivered the event with partners at Mines, industry and a national lab.
