Achievement
On July 8, Danielle Ladd, CMI Outreach Coordinator, hosted the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) Pathways Summer School (PSS) student cohort at Colorado School of Mines. Students toured a research laboratory and visited the Critical Material Innovation Hub exhibit at the Mines Museum of Earth Science.

Details

  • The PSS cohort was comprised of 20 high school students from the Denver metro area who participated in a 4-week summer school program focused on electrochemistry hosted by NLR. 
  • Danielle Ladd, using the CMI exhibit, discussed critical materials and how they relate to energy technologies such as batteries with the students.
  • This activity resulted in one incoming Mines student contacting CMI Deputy Director Ian Lange with interest in learning more about critical materials.
