CMI Focus Area Lead for Enhancing and Diversifying Supply Michael Moats, Missouri S&T, provided a keynote address entitled “Energy Transition: Addressing minerals and materials supply needs for our future” in a plenary session of Extraction 2025 on November 17, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Significance and Impact
- Extraction 2025 hosted more than 1,000 delegates from 20+ countries.
- The conference combined programming from two large recurring international symposia – Copper 2025 and Ni-Co 2025.
- Moats is department chair and professor of materials science and engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology.
