Innovation

CMI Leadership Academy members are using the CMI Education Toolkit in outreach activities across the United States.

Achievement

  • CMI Leadership Academy Cohort 6 member Eunjeong Kim (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory) used the CMI Education Toolkit to introduce critical materials to students during a California Summer Academy.
  • The session highlighted everyday technologies—magnets, solar panels, hard drives—and asked, “What critical materials do you use daily?” Hands-on activities like magnet strength tests and glowing phosphorescent materials reinforced core concepts in a memorable way.

Hub Targets Addressed

  • Providing the leaders, technical experts and skilled professionals needed by U.S. industry to assure supply chains.
  • Training the critical materials workforce of the future.
