Critical Materials Innovation Hub Director Tom Lograsso, Ames National Laboratory, was named 2025 R&D Leader of the Year by the R&D 100 Awards program.
Details
- The award recognizes his role in leading the U.S. Department of Energy’s critical materials Energy Innovation Hub, as well as serving as Director of the Division of Critical Materials at Ames National Laboratory.
- Lograsso has served as a leader at Ames National Laboratory since 2007, including Interim Director, Deputy Director, and Director of the Division of Materials Science and Engineering.
- He joined Ames Lab in 1988 – with many research success including a rare-earth free substitute for the alloy Terfenol-D.
