Achievement
A former CMI postdoc was recognized by the mining industry in Utah in the 4th Annual Utah Women at the Forefront event, recognizing women and men allies in advanced materials manufacturing in Utah.

Significance and Impact

  • Ghazaleh (Ginny) Allaedini was recognized by the Utah Advanced Materials & Manufacturing Institute (UAMMI) as a materials scientist who “has contributed to the research and development of X-ray technology products in support of advanced manufacturing.”
  • Allaedini was a CMI postdoc and a research associate with FIPR Institute over a two-year period, and has worked as a materials scientist with Moxtex for more than four years. 
  • The award notes that since joining Moxtek, Allaedini “has patented two new X-Ray window designs, key to the company’s efforts to develop alternatives to traditional beryllium windows in the industry.”
