The Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) is an NSF-funded program to build skills within institutions with significant enrollments of minority populations underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). LSAMP students at Ames National Laboratory during summer 2019 were (from left) Rubyann Olmos, Hector Iturriaga and Dawn Blazer. Their CMI mentor was Ikenna Nlebedim, assisted by Kinjal Gandha.

Rubyann Olmos from University of Texas at El Paso interned at CMI lead institution Ames Laboratory in 2021, following summer 2020 as a DOE Student Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) and the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program in 2019.
