Aaron Wilson is a CMI project lead and a research chemist at Idaho National Laboratory. His background is in water treatments dealing with challenging solutions that precipitate solids, including water softening and zero liquid discharge. His CMI research is focused on developing water treatment for critical material production and recycling as well as developing hydrometallurgical techniques for direct material purification. Within the “Driving Reuse and Recycling” focus area he is advancing solvent driven fraction precipitation to purify critical materials from complex solutions including leachates with a low energy cost and high atom economy.
