
Subhamay Pramanik is a radiochemist, synthetic physical-organic chemist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory since June 2024. Previously, he was a postdoc a ORNL from March 2022 to May 2024. During the CMI Meeting at Mines in April 2024, Pramanik presented a poster “Enhancing Critical Mineral Separation for Sustainable Extraction” and earned a best poster award.
Pramanik is an editor for the International Journal of Chemical Sciences and an associate editor for Frontiers. His work at ORNL includes CMI as well as research with other funding. Recently, part of that other work was recognized in a publication in the journal Nature. He is a member of the CMI Leadership Academy sixth cohort, which will begin meeting in January 2025.
In addition to science, Subho is skilled in art. As part of celebrating ORNL’s 80th anniversary, he submitted work for the Art of Science competition and won the People’s Choice Award.
He earned his doctorate degree in Chemistry in 2017, and served as a postdoc at the University of Kansas from 2018 to March 2022.
