Meet CMI early career researcher Caleb Stetson

Caleb Stetson is a Staff Materials Scientist/Engineer at Idaho National Laboratory. He started his research career at INL in 2020 as a postdoctoral researcher.

Stetson’s research for CMI includes award-winning technology LINK that won an R&D 100 Award in 2023 LINK.

As a member of the CMI Leadership Academy fifth cohort, he developed the CMI Short Course that was held April 11, 2024, at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. 

Stetson earned his doctorate in Materials Science at Colorado School of Mines, a master’s degree in nanotechnology from Tampere University of Technology in Finland, and a bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in biomedical engineering and English. His professional experience includes time in the mining and oil and gas sectors.
