Arindam Mukhopadhyay, Idaho National Laboratory

Arindam Mukhopadhyay is a Staff Scientist in the Chemical Systems Department in the Energy & Environment Science & Technology Division of Idaho National Laboratory. He has published over 34 articles in various peer-reviewed journals in the field of chemical and materials sciences, served as an expert reviewer for over 130 articles, and held Editorial positions in three different journals. His current research focuses on developing energy-efficient, sustainable chemical and electrochemical recycling pathways with which to recover diverse critical and valuable materials from secondary sources including end-of-life materials, electronic wastes, and water streams.

His research and association with CMI led to being appointed a project lead effective in June 2024. As a member of the CMI Leadership Academy fifth cohort, he developed the CMI Short Course that was held April 11, 2024, at Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. 

Arindam earned both his master’s and doctorate degrees in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, India, and his postdoctoral experience in Chemistry at the University of Miami, Florida, United States.
