Aaron Malone is a Research Assistant Professor at Colorado School of Mines. Based in the Mining Engineering Department, he is a social scientist who analyzes the overlapping social, economic, and environmental dynamics surrounding the mining industry. His research is field-based, drawing on interviews with leaders, stakeholders, and community members in locations across the United States and in Latin America. Dr. Malone received his PhD in Geography from the University of Colorado and has worked at Colorado School of Mines since 2019. He is a member of the CMI Leadership Academy sixth cohort, which will begin meeting in January 2025.
