Call for Nominations, Cohort 6
The Critical Materials Innovation Hub (CMI) invites nominations, including self-nominations, for the sixth cohort of its Leadership Academy. The Academy prepares early career researchers and professionals in the field of critical materials to become leaders in their organizations. Up to 10 people will be selected.
Those selected will have the opportunity to network with other early career professionals within CMI, learn and discuss leadership concepts, identify areas for personal growth, work on group projects and make a difference in CMI education-and-workforce-development activities.
The estimated time commitment between January and September is approximately 100 hours, including two or three in-person meetings, online biweekly meetings, group projects, and self-learning time. See the tentative schedule at the bottom of this message.
Eligibility: Open to early career professionals in organizations that are CMI team members. Preference for those who have at least two years of work experience in their respective fields.
Process: For nominations, including self-nominations, submit a nomination statement of 1 page and the nominee’s (or your) CV to Academy@ameslab.gov. The nomination statement should answer 3 questions:
(1) Why do you think the nominee should be a member of the leadership academy or, in the case of self-nominations, why do you want to be part of the academy?
(2) How did the nominee (or you) demonstrate leadership through activities such as teamwork, mentoring, group communication and/or community building? For self-nominations, give an example.
(3) How would the experience of the leadership academy help with their (or your) future career?
Deadline for nominations: No later than October 18. Decisions announced no later than November 15.
