Achievement
- GEM fellow Steven Labalme completed a 10-week summer internship at ORNL working on the CMI project. His work focused on learning about and testing the performance of diglycolamides – rare earth element-selective extractants.
- Steven delivered an outstanding Ignite Talk during the ORNL GEM Tech Talk Competition and was selected to represent ORNL at the 2024 GEM Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas, held in September, where he won first place in the technical presentation competition.
- Currently, Steven is a first-year graduate student at MIT.
