CMI researchers from Idaho National Laboratory conducted the activity for this highlight
Achievement
CMI researchers Yuan-Yuan Lee and Mike Severson hosted a workshop entitled "Simulation for All," to 8th grade students in the greater Eastern Idaho region. A CMI model and education toolkit were utilized during the sessions. They demonstrated the value of building simulation models to solve complex, real-world problems.
Significance and Impact
- Students had the opportunity to play with the model and conduct various simulations on potential impacts of energy technology deployment on critical materials supply chains.
- Students gained understanding on the role of critical materials in U.S. energy security and consequences of supply chain disruptions.
Hub Target Addressed
Educate the workforce of the future on critical materials, and their importance.
