Researchers shared CMI expertise at the IRTC conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia, focusing on the global challenges of material criticality and supply chain robustness.

Significance and Impact  

  • Braeton Smith led a special session at the IRTC Training Course, Raw Materials Risk Management (Basic). He provided insights on performing material criticality analysis from the 2023 DOE assessment.  
  • Ian Lange presented “Forward Looking Criticality for the U.S.” 
  • Roderick Eggert participated in panel discussions on the “role of product and production standards in critical materials,” and “public policy toward critical materials.

  • Strengthened CMI’s international presence in material criticality research and policy development.  
  • Fostered collaboration with international institutions.
