Achievement
Ikenna Nlebedim was a member of the first cohort of the CMI Leadership Academy. He has continued his leadership training, and recently was promoted to Deputy Director of the Division of Critical Materials at Ames National Laboratory.

Significance and Impact
Since completing the CMI Leadership Academy, Nlebedim has continued to be a prolific, award-winning inventor and has further developed leadership skills through selection and participation in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oppenheimer Science and Energy Leadership Program (OSELP). He also advanced to a leadership position within CMI, serving as Deputy Director for the Focus Area on Developing Substitutes since 2020.
