Pandemic Recovery Updates and Information

Current Recovery Status:

Phase 1, priority research and operations

Ames Laboratory's return to on-site operations is a phased approach, discussed in detail in the Department of Energy approved Pandemic Recovery Plan document. It includes three phases:

Phase 0: maintains a maximum telework stance and minimum critical research and operations activities. The Laboratory was in Phase 0 from March 18 to June 11, 2020

Phase 1: limits access to physically-distanced essential personnel only for priority research and operations activities and locations. Research staff are brought back in phased cohorts as are Operations leads, and must completing training, health screening, and follow space procedures for physical distancing. The Laboratory has been in Phase 1 since June 11, 2020

Phase 2: resumes normal operations. All other employees on work from home status will return to on-site operations in phased groups, requiring training, health screening, and physical distancing measures. The Laboratory has not identified a start date for this phase.
