Materials & Energy Solutions Workshop

Opportunities in materials and energy sciences for Minority Serving Institutions 
May 31 - June 1, 2023

Ames National Laboratory invites faculty and students from Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) to meet with our leadership and researchers for two days of collaborative science and career exploration. The two-day workshop will include themed sessions that feature materials science, chemical sciences and next generation computing, as well as tours of laboratory facilities and professional development seminars.

Julie Carruthers, Department of Energy, Office of Science
Dr. Julie Carruthers is a Senior Science & Technology Advisor to the Principal Deputy Director of the DOE’s Office of Science and Acting Director for the Office of Diversity, Inclusion & Research Integrity. She is leading efforts focused on advancing the Office of Science’s policies and practices for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in grant making practices and at the DOE national laboratories.
