Navigating the Science Bowl Registration Process

1. Determine the appropriate regional event:
High school teachers start here: https://science.osti.gov/wdts/nsb/Regional-Competitions/High-School-Regionals
Middle school coaches start here: https://science.osti.gov/wdts/nsb/Regional-Competitions/Middle-School-Regionals

2. When the registration site launches, you will be able to click on your state. Then click on the active link for the event assigned to your location.

3. Bookmark this page - this page not only has the event date, but contact information and important dates.

4. On the regional event page you will see a link labeled “COACH REGISTRATION - Register your team here.” —> Click on the word, “here.”

5. A box will appear that says, “You are exiting the Office of Science Web Server…Please click the following link to continue…” Click the link.

6. You are now in the "orau" computer system.

7. This is the link/page to which you will return in the future to finish registering your teams, to make changes (if allowed), and also where you you return in future years to register teams.

8. First year coaches must create new accounts. Click on the text that reads, “Create New Coach Account.” You must complete all fields on the “Create a New Coach Account” page.

9. Returning coaches can access the site using previous login information to register teams. When you log in, please take a moment to review/update your account information (especially email addresses).

10. After clicking “Register,” you will be directed back to the login page to enter your username and password. Please note that there are tools on this page to help you recover your username and password: “Forgot Username” and “Reset Password.” NOTE: After THREE unsuccessful password attempts, you will be locked out of the system until the next business day. Please use the “Reset Password” tool!!

11. After logging in, complete all required information on all active links and tabs.  

12. Click SUBMIT REGISTRATION button to finalize your team's registration. If you do NOT receive an email from the system within 12 hours, check your junk and spam mail. Then check with your regional coordinator to see if your registration was received.
