2023 DOE Mile

The 2023 DOE Mile is the 8th annual one-mile walk/run race between lab workers and their family members across the DOE complex. Twelve DOE national labs and over 1300 workers participated in the 2022 event. This year promises to bring even more to the friendly competition. Join in-person onsite races at your lab or participate virtually/remotely!

Ames National Laboratory DOE Mile

Time: 11 a.m. race start 

Location: East side of TASF

Times will be submitted and calculated.

Participation waiver required prior to the event. You may download it HERE, and email to om@ameslab.gov. Waivers will also be available on site before the race start time. Post-race snacks and water will be provided. 

Virtual participants, dependents and spouses can submit their times online from
May 1- 22  at this LINK, which will go live on May 1. 

Volunteers are needed to help supervise the route and take down times for the in-person
race. Contact activeforlife@ameslab.gov.

This event is part of Active for Life, a laboratory-wide team challenge that will take
place over eight weeks in May and June, and is designed to encourage people to become
