Congratulations to the South Middle School team, from Waukee Community School District, for winning the 20th annual Ames National Laboratory/Iowa State University Regional Middle School Science Bowl! The competition took place on the Iowa State University campus on Saturday, Feb. 18.

A total of 21 teams traveled to the Iowa State campus to compete in this year’s competition. The competition began in the morning, with the final matches taking place in the afternoon. Ranking from the final matches are as follows: Johnston Middle School took second place, Northview Middle School took third place, and Parkview Middle School took fourth place overall.

The South Middle School team will represent the Iowa Region at the U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl (NSB)® April 27-May 1, 2023, in Washington, DC.
