iCOUP scientist Abu-Omar named 2022 ACS Award winner

Mahdi M. Abu-Omar, a scientist with the Institute for the Cooperative Upcycling of Plastics and a professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UC Santa Barbara, has won an 2022 American Chemical Society Award for Affordable Green Chemistry. The awards were announced Sept. 24 by ACS. 

The Affordable Green Chemistry award recognizes "outstanding scientific discoveries that lay the foundation for environmentally-friendly products or manufacturing processes at a cost comparable to or less than that of current technologies, or discoveries that deliver new applications with compelling cost/benefit profiles," according to the ACS.
