

Scientific Achievement
Kinetic control is achieved for the green, selective production of tetrahydroquinoline or quinoline on demand through understanding the complex reaction network using operando MAS-NMR and addition of co-catalyst at a key intermediate step.
Significance and Impact
The interpretation of complex reaction networks can unleash the underestimated potential of existing catalytic systems and inspire the discovery of novel catalysis systems. This work aligns very well with PRD 3 on manipulation of reaction networks in BRN for Catalysis Science in 2017.
