This week is Global Entrepreneurship Week. The goal of the week is "to generate new ideas and to seek better ways of doing things. Countries across six continents come together to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week, an initiative to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity. To think big -- and to turn their ideas into reality." GEW " connects people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators." See: "http://www.unleashingideas.org/
We are proud to recognize the innovativeness and creativity that takes place within Ames Laboratory. Our researchers continue to lead the world in materials research and in technologies that may be transformative. To encourage innovation and creativity, the Office of Sponsored Research Administration will continue to sponsor a variety of seminars designed to inform our staff on the processes involved in protecting intellectual property, licensing technology and starting new companies. In addition, I encourage you to take a ride on the TASF elevator this week to read the GEW poster. There are several places on the ISU campus where an individual or individuals interested in pursuing their entrepreneurial spirit can obtain help and guidance; the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship is one such organization.
