Evaluations, employee assistance and benefit open change

The three-month performance evaluation process for P&S and merit employees new to Ames Lab introduced in the August edition of the Insider was suspended due to necessary system upgrades. Now that the upgrades are in place, testing is being completed and updates are being made in preparation to kickoff both the three-month and annual performance evaluation processes in 2013.

As you walk around the buildings of TASF, Spedding, Metals Development and Wilhelm, you may notice a new addition to some of the bulletin boards. Employee and Family Resources (EFR), our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider, has designed posters to reflect the issues many employees may be experiencing. Contact information is included on the posters and more information can be found at www.efr.org/eap.  Don’t forget, the EAP is not only for your use – it’s also a benefit for your family members.

Reminder:  Open Change

Much like the leaves falling and the temperature changing, open change is here once again.  Open change is a period of time allowed for employees to review and make changes to their benefits.  Open change for faculty, P&S and supervisory merit employees runs November 1-16.  Open change for non-supervisory merit employees began Oct. 1 and will also run through Nov. 16.  For questions about open change, please contact a Benefits Specialist in the ISU Benefits Office at (515) 294-4800 or visit their website at http://www.hrs.iastate.edu/hrs/benefits.
