Nominations open for 2018 Women Impacting ISU calendar

Do you know a woman who has impacted Iowa State University through campus involvement, in the classroom or through community relationships; inspires women of all generations; and is a current Iowa State student, staff or faculty member? If yes, then nominate her for the 2018 Women Impacting ISU calendar. Nominations are being accepted for the 2018 Women Impacting ISU calendar through Friday, Sept. 29.

The annual calendar, which was initiated in 2007, highlights the accomplishments and achievements of 12 women currently on the Iowa State University campus as students, faculty and staff. Ames Laboratory's own Pat Thiel was featured in the 2016 calendar (at left).  Selections are made by a committee comprised of previous honorees, past nominators, and staff of the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics based on the nominees' achievements in administration, teaching, research and service as well as their involvement in various campus activities.

The nomination form for the 2018 calendar is available on the Catt Center's website: The completed nomination must be submitted by 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 29, 2017.

Funding for the calendar is provided by Iowa State's Office of the Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion. Catt Center staff and students publicize and collect the nominations; organize the recognition reception in January of each year; and design, order and distribute the calendars.

Women must be employed by Iowa State University for the 2018 calendar year to be eligible for nomination. Seniors graduating in May 2018 may still be nominated.

For more information about the calendar nomination process, contact the Catt Center by emailing or calling 515-294-9867.
