Abstract

First directional point-contact Andreev reflection spectroscopy on the Ba0.55K0.45Fe2As2 single crystals is presented. The spectra show significant differences when measured in the ab plane in comparison with those measured in the c direction. In the latter case no traces of superconducting energy gap could be found, just a reduced point-contact conductance persisting up to about 100 K and indicating reduced density of states. On the other hand within the ab plane two nodeless superconducting energy gaps Delta(s) approximate to 2-5 meV and Delta(L) approximate to 9-11 meV are detected. (C) 2009 Elsevier B.V.
